The BFI London Film Festival announced its full programme this morning, and Frank and Percy is in it — a world premiere, in the Love strand, at the festival’s 70th edition.
Love is the right home for it. It is a film about two men who meet walking their dogs on Hampstead Heath and work out, later than either of them expected, that there is a good deal still ahead of them.
Sean Mathias directs, Martin Sherman adapted his own play, and Ian McKellen and Roger Allam are back in the roles they created in the West End.
The festival runs from 7 to 18 October. Screening dates and tickets will go up on the BFI site.
I am an executive producer on it for John Gore Studios. Taking a first audience to it at the LFF is about as good as this job gets.
